Toyo expands Texas solar facility capacity by two gigawatts

Japanese solar manufacturer Toyo celebrated the completion of a two gigawatt expansion at its Texas factory and outlined plans for new cell production.

Japanese solar manufacturer Toyo hosted a ceremony on October 7, 2026, to mark the completion of a two gigawatt module expansion at its solar facility in Humble, Texas. PV Magazine, Renewable Energy Magazine, Renewables Now, and Yahoo Finance Australia all reported that company executives and government officials attended the event. [1][2][3][5]

The company also outlined future developments for the Humble site. PV Magazine and TradingView reported that Toyo plans to complete a heterojunction cell production line at the Texas location in 2028, with TradingView specifying a target completion date in the first quarter of that year. Renewables Now added that Toyo presented a funding plan for the project, which carries an estimated cost of 357 million US dollars. [1][3][6]
