Bellevue Gold to supply renewable gold for St Pauls Cathedral repairs

Australian miner Bellevue Gold has been chosen as the exclusive gold supplier to repair London's St Paul's Cathedral, RenewEconomy reported. The miner was selected because its gold is produced primarily using renewable energy. The gold will be used to regild the ball and cross situated on top of the dome. [1]

RenewEconomy reported that Bellevue Gold is the first gold mine in the world to reach net zero emissions. The project marks the first regilding of the historic cathedral since 1863. [1]

St Paul's Cathedral sits at the highest point of the City of London on Ludgate Hill, according to Wikipedia. The current Grade I listed building was designed in the English Baroque style by Sir Christopher Wren and was completed in 1710. [3]
