The European Union and its 27 member states contributed 32.3 billion euros in public climate finance to developing countries in 2025, according to Azərtac and the European Council. The funds were provided to help developing nations reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate change impacts. [1][2]

Azərtac reported that the bloc also mobilised an additional 9.3 billion euros of private finance in 2025. The official figures were published by the Council based on reporting rules set out in the governance regulation. [1]

The data release comes in preparation for the upcoming United Nations climate change conference, COP31 and CMA8. Azərtac reported that the conference will take place from November 9 to November 20 in Antalya, Türkiye. [1]
