Saudi Arabian crude oil exports increased by 7.9 percent month on month in August 2026, reaching 4.451 million barrels per day. Inspenet reported that figures released by the Joint Organizations Data Initiative show exports rose to their highest level since March. Investing.com and Investing.com India both reported that the August export volume marked a four month high for the country. [1][3][6]
The growth in foreign sales occurred alongside a drop in Saudi domestic oil production and ongoing transport issues across the Middle East. Inspenet reported that transport routes for crude oil shipments continued to face regional tensions during the month. [1]
As FTMQ Climate reported earlier, regional energy supplies had previously faced disruption from attacks in the Strait of Hormuz and strikes on Saudi facilities. Saudi crude output stood at 8.372 million barrels per day in September after recovering from earlier supply disruptions. [9][10]
Saudi Arabia occupies the bulk of the Arabian Peninsula in West Asia and borders the Red Sea and the Persian Gulf. The kingdom previously restored export flows through a Red Sea pipeline to mitigate regional maritime security risks, as FTMQ Climate reported earlier. [7][10]
