Work has officially started on the Parron Maam Marang wind project, which is the largest wind farm to begin construction in Australia for more than two years, RenewEconomy reported. Western Australia energy minister Amber-Jade Sanderson announced the construction milestone over the weekend. [1]

According to RenewEconomy, the Parron Maam Marang development is located approximately 170 kilometres north of Perth in the mid-west Wheatbelt region. The site sits near several existing renewable energy installations, including the newly expanded Warradarge facility and the Waddi project. [1]

RenewEconomy reported that this development represents the fifth wind project to reach financial close and begin construction in Western Australia this year. The other four projects that have reached this stage are Narrogin, Kondinin, Nullagine, and Waddi, which has completed its concrete foundations. [1]
