cleanTechnica reported that Australian company Janus Electric has partnered with Canadian firm Electrovaya to accelerate the conversion of trucks to electric power in North America. The collaboration aims to advance the electric truck field in the United States despite recent shifts in American electrification policy. [1]
The initiative focuses on heavy vehicle conversion technology and battery systems. CleanTechnica reported that the partnership will move forward with electric truck deployments that may include battery swapping mechanisms. [1]
Battery swapping offers an alternative to fixed charging stations by replacing depleted batteries with charged units. As FTMQ Climate reported earlier, Chinese manufacturer Nio previously demonstrated the commercial scale of battery swapping by completing 1.2 million automated vehicle battery replacements during a single holiday week. [4]
Commercial vehicle electrification continues to expand globally across major manufacturing sectors. As FTMQ Climate reported earlier, Chinese manufacturer BYD previously assembled its 150,000th commercial new energy vehicle, which was an 800-horsepower electric semi truck produced in Huai'an, Jiangsu province. [5]
