Entergy Texas has officially brought the Orange County Advanced Power Station into service in Texas, adding 1,215 megawatts of power capacity to the local grid. Power Engineering reported that the facility was commissioned to meet rising electricity demand driven by regional population and industrial growth. [1]

The power plant features dual M501JAC gas turbines, a steam turbine, a heat recovery steam generator, and an advanced control recovery system supplied by Mitsubishi Power. Power Engineering reported that the facility currently operates as a combined cycle gas turbine plant, but it has the potential to eventually run on 100 percent hydrogen fuel. [1]

David Borde, the chief executive officer of Entergy Texas, stated that the project ensures Texas families and businesses have necessary energy and infrastructure. He added that customers rely on the company to power critical parts of their daily operations. [1]
