The Koruson 2 wind and solar power project in South Africa has reached full commercial operation, adding 520 megawatts of electricity to the national grid. Construction Review reported that developer Envusa Energy, a joint venture between Anglo American and EDF power solutions, completed the installation. Renewables Now also reported that EDF and Anglo American finished the project. [1][8]

Construction Review detailed that the development required an investment of 15 billion to 16 billion rand. The infrastructure spans across the Eastern Cape and Northern Cape provinces. Renewable Energy Magazine confirmed that Envusa Energy fully commissioned the cluster. [1][2][3]

The 520 megawatt capacity combines three distinct power plants. Construction Review reported that these sites include the 240 megawatt Mooi Plaats solar photovoltaic facility, the 140 megawatt Umsobomvu wind farm, and the 140 megawatt Hartebeesthoek wind farm. [1]

South Africa is expanding its clean energy infrastructure across several regions. Construction Review reported that the Mpumalanga Wind Farm project is also moving forward as part of the country's broader renewable energy expansion efforts. [1]
