Tesla deployed 13.7 gigawatt hours of energy storage products in the third quarter of 2026, Energy Storage News reported. This marks the second highest quarterly deployment volume in the company history. However, revenue for the energy storage division fell by 16 percent year on year during the same period. [1][4]
In regulatory filings released alongside its financial results, Tesla adjusted its capital spending plans for the year. Electrek and CFO Dive both reported that Tesla reduced its 2026 capital expenditure forecast in its third quarter 10-Q filing. The company now expects capital expenditures to exceed 20 billion dollars in 2026, down from its previous forecast of more than 25 billion dollars issued in April. [2][6]
Electrek reported that the revised spending figures appeared in the formal SEC 10-Q filing rather than the shareholder letter released on the same day. Electrek also noted that Tesla generated 1.53 billion dollars in positive free cash flow during the third quarter. [2]
Tesla is an electric vehicle manufacturer and clean energy company founded in California in 2003. As of 2023, Tesla achieved global vehicle sales of 1.77 million units annually. [8]
