Mercedes-Benz reported on Wednesday that electrified vehicles accounted for one in four cars sold globally during the third quarter, despite a decline in total overall vehicle deliveries. InsideEVs reported that sales of electrified models at the automaker increased by 61 percent year-over-year during the three-month period. [1]

According to InsideEVs, fully electric vehicles made up 16.8 percent of all Mercedes-Benz passenger cars sold in the third quarter. The automaker reported that one in four cars sold between July and September contained a charging port, combining sales of both battery-electric models and plug-in hybrids. [1]

The increase in electrified vehicle sales occurred even as total delivery volumes for the company dropped. InsideEVs reported that the latest delivery report shows a significant expansion in electrification efforts for the German automaker. [1]
